French Toast Filled with Cream Cheese & Savory Marionberry

A sweet-savory twist on a brunch classic that doesn’t mess around.
French Toast Filled with Cream Cheese & Savory Marionberry
This isn’t your average French toast. We took thick slices of bread, stuffed them with cream cheese, and layered in our savory Marionberry sauce for a grown-up version of your childhood favorite. Crispy outside, creamy center, and an unexpected pop of fruit-forward tang.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices thick-cut brioche or sourdough
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 pack Howl at the Spoon Marionberry Sauce
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Spread cream cheese on one slice of bread, top with a spoonful of Marionberry sauce, and sandwich with another slice.
- Dip the sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides well.
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until golden brown on both sides and heated through.
- Slice, drizzle with extra Marionberry, and serve hot.
Flavor tip: For a dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese and almond milk — still rich, still drool-worthy.
